Bermuda Grass

Description : Cynodondactylon, commonly known as Bermuda Grass or Dhurva Grass, is a perennial grass species native to warm climates and widely distributed across the globe. It forms dense, spreading mats with fine, slender stems and roots at nodes, making it effective for erosion control. The grass has slender, flat leaves and produces inconspicuous spikelets in clusters, often found in lawns, pastures, and along roadsides.

Suitable Climate Condition : Cynodondactylon thrives in warm, tropical to subtropical climates with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 35°C (68°F to 95°F). It prefers full sun exposure and well-drained soils, including sandy and clayey soils. The grass is highly drought-tolerant and can withstand moderate to low rainfall, making it adaptable to dry and arid regions. It spreads rapidly through its rhizomatous roots and is considered invasive in some areas due to its aggressive growth habit.
