Banyan Tree

Description : Ficus benghalensis, commonly known as the Banyan Tree, is a large, evergreen tree native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its extensive aerial roots that grow downwards to form additional trunks, giving it a unique and sprawling appearance. The tree has leathery, elliptical leaves and small fig-like fruits that attract various birds and wildlife.

Suitable Climate Condition : Ficus benghalensis thrives in warm, tropical climates with temperatures between 20°C and 35°C (68°F to 95°F). It prefers well-drained soils and can grow in a variety of soil types, including sandy and loamy soils. The tree requires moderate rainfall and is tolerant of occasional drought once established. It grows well in full sun to partial shade and benefits from regular pruning to manage its size and spread.
