Two-Day Training on Aquaponics

Duration : 2 days (Residential)
Date : Coming Soon
Training Fee : Rs. 8,000 + GST

What is Aquaponics ?
Aquaponics is a system of growing plants/crops in water that is used to cultivate aquatic organisms –it is thus a combination of fish farming and hydroponics. As the fish eat and grow, they produce waste. The waste-infused water is used as fertilizers for the plants, which in turn absorb the nutrients from the water. The water is then re-circulated back to the fish culture thanks thereby serving as a natural cycle of cultivation.

What Are The Benefits of Aquaponics?

  • Water usage is significantly lower (up to 95% of the water is saved)
  • Offers a higher density (up to 4 to 6 times higher yields)
  • Is a highly profitable form of agriculture
  • Yields high quality organic produce
  • 100% organic nutrients –free of chemical fertilizers /pesticides
  • Environmentally friendly (less energy use, no pollution, no soil damage)
  • Requires minimal mechanical equipment
  • Requires lower input costs
  • Can be undertaken in any geography during any season
  • Can generate employment-at-scale for marginal farmers

In many ways, aquaponics could be called the solution to food security in our country. Irrigable land is rapidly decreasing, water conservation is a major requirement and the need for affordable organic vegetables is rising by the day.
