Method of Preparation:

  1. Palak powder-15 grams
  2. Rice-500 grams
  3. Tomato-1 no
  4. Green peas/corn-15 grams
  5. Carrot - 1 medium size
  6. Potato – 1 medium size
  7. Bay leaf- 2 no
  8. Cloves- 5-6
  9. Cinnamon – 1 medium size
  10. Cumin seeds-2 grams
  11. Ginger garlic paste – 1 tea spoon
  12. Green chilies-2 to 3 no
  13. Coriander – for garnishing
  14. Salt -5 grams

Method of Preparation:

  1. Wash, peel, and cut the carrot, potato into desired shapes
  2. Wash the rice, add water and soak for 10 minutes (1:2 ratio)
  3. Grind cinnamon, cloves, green chilies, bay leaf leaf into coarse powder
  4. Heat a pressure cooker, add oil, cumin seeds, and toast
  5. Add the cut vegetables and toast for 1 minute
  6. Mix palak and spice powder and do final toasting.
  7. Add rice and the required amounts of salt and mix uniformly
  8. Pressure cook until 2 to 3 whistles.
  9. Serve with curd or any gravy
