Ayushi Sharma is a graduate from Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education (SAICE), Pondicherry. She has done her Masters in Energy Strategies from MINES ParisTech, France.
Her interests are in the field of micro/nano- grids for rural communities and plans to set up her own social enterprise. She is currently working as a research engineer in the renewable energy startup, SunMoksha.
She is developing technologically advanced but affordable water management solutions for our organic farms.
Suresh Subbarao is one of the co-founders of Gramonnati and Gratitude Farms.
His entire 36-year career has been with technology companies. He worked with Cisco Systems for the last 18 years in various capacities in the Engineering, IT, Professional Services and Technical Support areas. He was a very active member of the India Civic Council – a body that structured, coordinated and led all the CSR related activities of Cisco in India. Before joining Cisco, he worked for over ten years with a Utility company in the USA designing, implementing and supporting various networking and technology platforms.
He is focused on the application of technology, business and entrepreneurial skills to create more vibrant, sustainable and thriving rural communities. He is working with his co-founders to find relevant, cost effective and scalable solutions to some of the problems of rural communities.
Two primary objectives they are working towards are to increase educational and entrepreneurial opportunities in rural areas and nudging communities towards sustainable and integrated farming practices by providing the required training, support and connections.
He believes that it is possible to create the ‘World of Three Zeros’ so eloquently advocated by Mohammed Yunus – a world with zero poverty, zero unemployment and zero net carbon emissions. Suresh has always been a strong proponent and supporter of equitable and sustainable societies and is now trying to add his mite to the cause via Gramonnati’s work.
He is an alumnus of NITK and IIM-B. He lives and works out of Mysuru.
Brig Rakesh Kaul has over 33 years of distinguished military experience as an officer in the Corps of Signals, Indian Army. He has led major communications and networking projects for the Army over the years in various parts of the country. He joined Gramonnati after his retirement in Mar 2018. He is also a wildlife enthusiast and is a post graduate in Eco-Tourism.
Presently he is Co-founder at Gramonnati and Gratitude Farms. He has now settled in Pondicherry permanently post his retirement from Indian Army.

VP Sharma is a technology professional with over 34 years’ global experience in Telecommunications / Networking domains. An alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, Pune, he served in Indian Army (Corps of Signals) for 16 years from 1985 to 2001. During his career in Army, he has served in many operational assignments and military technology projects in India and internationally.
He transitioned to corporate world in 2001. From 2001 to 2010, he worked in telecom sector during the years of hyper-growth. During this period, he worked for Airtel, Ericsson and Nokia Siemens Networks in senior positions. An expert in organizational and business transformation, he setup and managed the first Network Operations Centre of Ericsson in India, first 3G operations in Malaysia and Managed Services business of NSN India. At NSN, he led the business transformation to profitable growth.
From 2011-2017, he was Technology Director with Cisco Systems, where he setup and managed Global Technology Support Organisation and Cisco’s Reliance Jio Network Operations.
In 2017, he left his corporate career and along with three of his close friends (two from Cisco and one retired Army Brigadier) to take up social entrepreneurship full-time through two ventures – Gramonnati Trust and Gratitude Farms with a goal to develop 10,000 rural entrepreneurs over the next five years from amongst youth, women and ex-soldiers.
Gratitude Farms has been setup with a mission to develop 5000 ex-soldiers as organic farming entrepreneurs.
He is also an Executive Committee Member of Sri Aurobindo Society (www.aurosociety.org), a global not-for-profit NGO based out of Pondicherry.
He lives in Pondicherry.
He is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur (M Tech, EE), and Military college of Telecom Engineering (BE, E&C).
